(New York, NY, June 13, 2007)– For the past 13 years J&R Music and Computer World has showcased the brightest stars of the musical galaxy through free concerts in historic City Hall Park in downtown Manhattan. This summer will be no exception as reggae/reggaeton talent Notch is set to perform his new and classic hits at the 2007 Summerfest. The three day concert running from June 14-16, also features new voices Emily King, Collie Buddz, and Chrisette Michele, as well as more familiar voices from Carl Thomas, Bobby Valentino, and Tank.
Notch recently performed at La Kalle’s Bling Blineo concert at Shea Stadium as well as the 50th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. Although Notch is an emerging solo artist, Vibe magazine has just chosen him to be a part of the “New Power List” for their September “Juice” issue. Clearly, Notch is 2007′s artist to watch for.
Notch’s first solo album, “Raised by the People,” on Cinco por Cinco Records/Machete Music was released on May 22nd, and continues to build momentum. The highly anticipated freshman record includes the remix of reggaeton club favorite “Hay Que Bueno” and current single “Dale Pa’ Tra” which can be seen in heavy rotation on MTV3S. Since the release of “Raised by the People,” Notch has been traveling internationally breaking down cultural barriers with his audacious blend of Latin and Anglo Caribbean music styles.
The diversity that characterizes “Raised by the People” is sure to keep this summer hot and sizzling. Get your free sneak peak this Friday June 15th at 6pm at City Hall Park, 23 Park Row, NY, NY.
