Over the next two years, Anheuser-Busch has pledged $200,000 to the HollyRod Foundation, making the largest single contribution the non-profit organization has received to date. Established in 1997 by philanthropists, actress and author Holly Robinson Peete and former NFL quarterback and Best Damn Sports Show Period co-host Rodney Peete, the HollyRod Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life for adults and children across the globe who are faced with devastating life circumstances. “Rodney and I know that there are many worthy causes in this world so we are overwhelmed with gratitude that Anheuser-Busch has welcomed the HollyRod Foundation into their family. Anheuser-Busch’s consistent belief in our mission to elevate the quality of life for those stricken with devastating circumstances has been quite simply the motor that keeps us running. The foundation recently expanded its mission to address more children’s issues, creating HollyRod4Kids. This organization is the brainchild of the Peete children, twins Ryan and RJ (9), Robinson (4) and Roman (2), and seeks to improve the lives of children living along the Gulf Coast who were affected by Hurricane Katrina and children in sub-Saharan Africa whose communities have been ravaged by civil war, famine and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Peetes were inspired to establish the HollyRod Foundation after seeing Holly’s father, Matthew T. Robinson Jr., valiantly battle Parkinson’s disease for over 20 years, finally succumbing in 2002, and witnessing first-hand the hardships that come along with this type of life-changing circumstance.

This year, Anheuser-Busch’s generous donation and prominent role as presenting sponsor of DesignCare 2007 will help advance the goals of the HollyRod Foundation and heighten the profile of the annual event.
Each year, the HollyRod Foundation hosts two high-profile fundraisers, Gridiron Glamour and DesignCure, now DesignCare, which commemorate the legacy of Matthew T. Robinson and raise millions of dollars for those in need. The 9th Annual DesignCare will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2007 beginning at 6:30 PM at a private estate in Malibu, CA. Each year, the elegant event attracts bevies of celebrity and VIP guests and features a special musical performance, a breathtaking fashion show, and both live and silent auctions. DesignCare 2007 will honor legendary musician, Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire, and the fashion show will showcase the dynamic designs of Naeem Khan. Proceeds from DesignCare will provide much needed relief to those who are plagued with various crippling life challenges and serious illnesses, including Parkinson’s. Since the launch of DesignCure in 1999, the fundraiser has grown from playing host to 150 guests, to welcoming more than 500 supporters and has raised well over $2,000,000.
