New York based Grammy-winning Producer and Songwriter Devo Springsteen continues to make his mark in the music world by executive producing his 2nd urban marketing campaign for Bacardi Grand Melon titled, The G.O.O.D., The Bad, The Ugly which has just been released through Devo’s multimedia and production company Astor Place Media.  The campaign, which includes branded enhanced mix-tape and vinyl sent to local and national tastemakers, features exclusive music from Kanye West, GLC, Consequence, Patti Labelle, Fonzworth Bentley, Sa-Ra Creative Partners and more! The G.O.O.D., The Bad, The Ugly is an innovative first-of-its-kind multimedia urban marketing campaign designed for Bacardi Flavor’s newest watermelon-inspired rum, Bacardi Grand Melon. The CD features new and exclusive music by artists signed to G.O.O.D. Music (Kanye West’s boutique record label, home to Grammy artists, John Legend and Common) as well as music videos, a documentary on the making of the mix-tape and website links to Bacardi Flavors’ and  G.O.O.D. Music’s corporate websites and other related sites. In addition, Astor Place Media will distribute custom-designed color branded vinyl, matching Bacardi Grand Melon’s distinct color scheme to the top DJs across the country.  Both the Mix tapes and vinyl will also be distributed at Bacardi sponsored events and programs for the 21 and over crowd. Bacardi Flavor commissioned Devo, a Wharton School of Business graduate, as Executive Producer of this unique cross-marketing initiative because of his gifted skills as a music producer and his corporate branding experience. This is the second collaboration between the two brands. Devo Springsteen/Astor Place Media first corporate collaboration with Bacardi Big Apple came in the form of his critically acclaimed, “The Good Life” Mix tape back in December 2006. The Mix tape featured G.O.O.D. Music artists including Kanye West, Common, John Legend, 50 Cent, Maroon 5, and more!  Says Adrian Salonga, Account Supervisor for Bacardi Flavor/Buzztone Marketing, “We have been fortunate to spot Devo early before all the hits and the Grammy Awards. It has been fantastic with both efforts where we’ve seen our brand handled brilliantly with an incredible song selection of new and unreleased tracks that are a perfect fit for our profile.” Devo Springsteen, who won a Best Rap Song Grammy in 2006 for producing Kanye West’s smash single, “Diamonds (From Sierra Leone),” continues to produce future hits on upcoming albums by high profile artists for 2007, such as the one and only, Ms. Aretha Franklin, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Common, Cassidy, dead Prez, Consequence and more!  Samples of the unique “Devo Springsteen Sound” that are on current albums and can be heard on the radio include: Nas’ “Let There Be Light” “Stereo” by John Legend, and “Blowin’ My Phone up” by Consequence.   In addition, Devo has become a sought after DJ often spinning at the sexiest international clubs from London all the way to Johannesburg, and all spots in between.  He is currently in final stages of preparation for an upcoming mini-DJing tour in Japan with rapper, Consequence, scheduled for late May. Starting out as a club DJ in Philadelphia, Devo quickly learned what kind of beats and melodies moved people.  He then made the move to New York City in 2000, where he began, collaborating with super-producer Kanye West and DJing for the band of up-and-coming soul singer, John LegendRecognizing talent Devo subsequently signed Legend to Kanye West’s burgeoning record label, G.O.O.D. Music.  Devo produced and co-wrote three songs on Legend’s debut album Get Lifted.
